Trains coming in without their movement orders.

Recommended Posts

Maniac302

I just noticed, that trains are coming into my control without their movement orders. I've been having to give them their orders manually, taken from the movement orders pdf.

What is going on?

I just passed midnight, could that have something to do with it?

How do I do that? Arnhem hasn't notified me of any updates.

Before you ask, yes, I purchased it, and yes, I put the license key file that I got in the email next to the Arnhem.exe

very good! Now the following questions:

- in the help - > about menu does it say it's registered to you?

if so, you're automatically notified that an update is available.

But you have to allow your anti-virus/firewall the application to access the internet.

(if you allowed it you can see our news messages in the start screen. if you see a red triangle... you didn't)

From then it all goes automatically...

You have the correct version.

A new Timetable is available in this forum.

However, passing midnight is a problem that can not be solved.

So, after midnight always restart the simulation at the time of 00.01 hour.

Kind regards,

Leo

The train 59419 is not reverses the track. (207)

I am sorry but I cannot find anything wrong there.

Train 59419 arrives on track 9 and goes on to track 30.

There the train reverses and goes to track 7, couples with the cars on track 7 and the loco uncouples.

However this can take some time:

The driver takes an extra break, goes for some coffee or a sanitary stop or anything else.

You just don't know !

If you send a picture perhaps to understand better.

I do not go completely into the 207 track and stop.

Here you can take a coffee break?

I understand that you send the train directly into track 207.

Why ?

In the Timetable (F12) you can find that you should send the train to track 209 (on Friday) or to track 206b (on other days).

Track 207 is occupied with some cars. The yellow light in that track is on.

Send in the train to track 207 causes a major problem.

Reversing the train requires special safety measures and is in fact not allowed.

Going forward is blocked by the cars on track 207.

So you screwed up and should start the simulation again.

With kind regards,

Leo

Hobbyman, if you have to start over because you send a train to the wrong track then surely the simulation has a bit of a bug... I doubt that we 'restart the day' in the real world when a train is sent to the wrong track.

But then again, this all goes back to the promised update we will never get, so I guess I'd better shut my mouth and refrain from playing any of the 3 dutch sims as all three has to be restarted somewhere along the day as silly bugs force you to restart.

This is most certainly not a bug !

Post T Arnhem and Post T Hengelo are very good. There are just 1 or 2 bugs in these simulations and there are no mistakes in the Timetable !

Your opinion not to play these simulations have no reasons what so ever !

Now in this case a dispatcher messed up.

A very experienced player may solve the problem:

Get another loco and pull the cars on track 7 to an other track.

This asks very much of the dispatcher: Trying to get another loco, give him his movementorders and bring the loco to Almelo.

Changing movementorders of all the next trains from Aa-dorp will be necessary too.

And at the same time keep all other trains going.

Just 1 mistake ( not seeing into the timetable) brings you a lot of troubles and simply to much workload for 1 person.

It would be nice if you reproduced the situation and told us how you solved the problem in place of giving an opinion which is just not correct !

With kind regards,

Leo

Oh you are absolutely right, you can fix the problem with some spare loco's. I did so myself when the timetable still had some bugs (it is excellent now by the way). I must say I really enjoyed fixing the problem that way, it was a nice challenge especially since you had to remember the order in which the already present trains were that where already there B) . But anyway, in real life you can order a driver to pass a signal at danger, or back up onto the main line (with the proper authorization and safeguards in place)to fix it. I've been in a train once that was sent to Rhenen by mistake. It moved back after roughly half an hour, so it could get back on it's journey towards Ede.

You are right that Apeldoorn Hengelo is in working order. I do have some problems with the branch to Vroomshop every now and then (train refuses to leave the aansluiting), but generally speaking it is workable.

In Arnhem you will get into troubles every time again, either it is the yard that stops sending you trains (trains remain in a 'shunting' state forever). Or you get problems with failures (switches stuck in one direction, that stay so for over 4 hours, even after sending trains over it, letting the engineers look at it and I don't know what else) or trains that do have a driver, but are stuck on a switch, so they can't answer the phone, won't answer the portophone, or can be hauled by the perronopzichter.

Amsterdam is the worst offender, trains refusing to run around, trains being send the wrong way on the side panels and trains in hand controlled area's refusing to do anything at all.

Oh and my reason not to play has a lot to do with the fact that I can play simsig, pc_rail, Siam and the new excellent bockpost sims that DO get updates and are improved uppon when something doesn't work. In fact what really makes me annoyed with these sims is the dev that constantly tells us about an update that will never come. It would have been a lot better (in fact I wouldn't be complaining here) if he was just fair and said he would only focus on the German sims from now on. Which given the amount of German/Dutch customers would be understandable. (not good, but I can understand it).

ps. once again, I'm really impressed with the TT of Apeldoorn Hengelo, it has an amount of detail you won't find in a lot of competitor's products.

On track 209 the loco uncouples,

Loco moves to track 230 and moves back to couple with wagons 59425w.

Loco and wagons move to track 230

and go back to couple with wagons 59429w.

loco uncouples

on monday loco goes to track 206a

on other days loco goes to track 230, then track 206a, track 210

Does this answers the question ?

These movementorders are already in the Timetable for a very long period.

The latest timetable (2014-03-07) is available in the downloads page of this forum.
